Coeg Bloodfeather Hung the bow up over the mantle.

Gaming has changed over the last 10 years, and not for the better. It seems to me that game designers go into the game trying to make this and that fun, but over time the Elite Greed Monster ((lvl 500+++)) enters the field and changes things in order to make a profit. I went into WoW & Lich King blind after leaving Warhammer but I lasted a whopping 2 weeks before being bored with the same old grinds, and the same as well as new gimmicks to make more people come around. You can see such gimm… Continue

Meram A history of gaming ala Meram

I was messing around on-line back when Q-Link was in existence and AOL was making its’ debut. I was playing with Flight Sims then, and was going head to head in F-16 Fighting Falcon with some friends. I first started playing multi-player on-line games back in the mid 1990’s and cut my teeth on Gemstone III. I progressed too NWN via AOL, and then stepped into UO about 3 months after its’ release. As fate would have it, I was on Atlantic and ended my time there in Rangers of Krynn. I learned first… Continue

Coeg Bloodfeather It's WAR!

In the months that Coeg Bloodfeather has been out in about in Warhammer I eventually made a home on Dark Crag and became part of Feared. Nice guys, we have a lot of fun pvp'ing. I am playing a Shadow Warrior at the moment and utterly love it. I did enjoy my SH and my Eng for a while, but the Shadow Warrior has everything I look for, despite the lack of DPS. Oh, and I got a new computer. My cpu fan flew off my motherboard after a year of operation and knocked out the hard drive. It was a very od… Continue

PaleOne Redemption's Lore Stance in the upcoming MMORG release Darkfall

Kyrel the Redhand put his tools away. The young elf had given him all the pleasure he could have asked for, his broken burnt body had stopped straining against the manacles hours ago.Kyrel unlocked the manacles and kicked what was left of him into the pit below. The Dragon would be pleased. Amoung the most skilled of the Dragonbound priests, Kyrel the Redhand loved his duty and duty always came first. His skill in manipulating fire was unparralled. He had forsaken his study of the healing arts,… Continue

Ransom Redemption captures Marsh of Madness Keep

Late last night we rallied the troops and led an assault on the Destruction controlled Marsh of Madness. At first there were only four or five members of Redemption. We were able to take down the guards and door easily enough.

Ransom Warhammer Online

There's very little on the MMO horizon these days. You have WoW. But thats like an old girlfriend buying a Jacuzzi and inviting you over. Sure its fun and fresh at first. Then its familiar and comfortable. Then you remember why you broke up in the first place. Other than WoW there's Darkfall which may or may not go the way of the Vaporbane. And then there's Warhammer, by Mythic, the creators of the much loved and respected by guilds across the world, Dark Age of Camelot. Everyone is still prett… Continue

Kirel Redhand Here we go, all the way, can't stop, won't stop, never stop...

Hello from the overworld. Yes, it's me. I am Kirel, aka Patrick and let me tell you, life has been different these past 8 weeks. I am down to 216lbs (so says the unofficial scale here at my Moms). Considering I started(feb 6th) at 360lbs - thats a HUGE difference. Last week, the morning I turned 38, I climbed Mt. Constitution, on Orcas Island. It's not a huge or snowcapped mountain, but for me, it was a major accomplishment, the first of many. I've gotten into this thing called GeoCacheing. Yo… Continue

PaleOne Greifer Poetry...

I am a griefer. I stalk the world looking for the unprepared, the foolish, the naive. I am amused by your screams for help. Those screams empower me. I know that timing is everything, I will wait. Patience is my only positive character trait. I will attack you when you are alone, when your attention is on a mob or a vendor, when you are at low health, and I will smile when you send me a tell about how it wasn't a fair fight... Who wants to fight a fair fight? not me, I am a griefer, victory… Continue

Wyked Missed ya'll

and it's good to be back. Life took the highway recently and I'm still trying to catch up but I hope to join you all at launch or soon thereafter. Miss smashing skulls with all of you. My powerleveling days are over unless of course I can win that damn lottery but I have a feeling I'll become engrossed..... Continue

Wyked Gaming

I didn't get a computer until I was 25 (8 years ago). My first game to get was Rogue Spear and since then it's been downhill (in terms of time away from gaming OR the computer). Got into EQ for a little over 3 years then bought just about every MMO/FPS game on the market since. I enjoy mostly all of them for some time and then usually talk myself out of playing because "it's a waste of time". I'm a gemini, if that helps. Have capped a character in +90% of the MMOs, always play PvP servers and us… Continue

Burgundus Burgundus: A gaming history

It seems to be a nostalgic time for me coming back for some reason and I was thinking about where I've come as a gamer so I thought I'd share my journey through time. Like many, I started out on my Commodore 64 and then Tandy 1000! Oh those were the days. In the mid 80s I remember my favorite games were wargames and simulators. M1 TAnk Platoon, Apache gunship, Ancient art of War, fun ones. I also started bulletin board strategy games and PBEM games. I remember my 300 modem - I was the bomb when… Continue

Burgundus Great time to invest

For all of us 20-40 somethings here, this is the great time to be in the market. I don't normally post blogs or my thoughts, but right now is not the time to run scared, but to find the bargains being dished out with the broadsword to the market. Stay in the game. The greatest part of building wealth is the time and compounding. Be putting something systematically away every month and start as soon as you can. $50 a month at 20-22 will go a huge way. Do your 401K even if you don't think you ca… Continue

Rook A Gamer at 30

Growing up in a small town there really wasn't much to do besides play sports, get in trouble, and play video games. When Ransom and I weren't doing the first two we were busy gaming. Our grandparents owned and operated the local bar and every summer we spent most of our waking hours there. Root beer, hot dogs, and the "god" key that opened every arcade game in the building was all we needed to suffer through the summer heat. We perfected our button smashing on games such as Donkey Kong, Dig Dug… Continue

indy Waffling

So, Pirates is just getting to the point where it is what I want it to be, but I'm not sure I care anymore. It's not quite a ghost town--Kinafa, and Maag are there, as well as Blight and a few new guys--but enough to make me think that when AoC comes out it will be. I'm not sure I'm going to stay. Even if I do I'll be out of the loop most of the time until July. I'm happy with my current rig but want to upgrade this year. I can afford to, and my wife's computer sucks. This may be the time to g… Continue

PaleOne Pale One's Gaming Bio Part 1 "From TRS-80's to Shadowbane"

I bought my first computer with the money I received from my 8th grade graduation. A Trs 80 color computer with 4k of Ram.. It actually had cartridge style games since cassette tapes with its only other form of permanent memory. Played lots of radioshack's version of berserker and missle command. Spent a lot of time in Arcades when they became popular Playing stuff like Moon patrol, Joust, asteroids... But I was also playing D&D. I enjoyed the freedom in a pen and paper Game where what you… Continue

Kirel Redhand Gaming - something I will never grow out of.

I can remember the first video game I played on the Computer. It was Zaxxon. The computer was an Apple IIe, it had "16 colors!!!!* and my monitor was an old TV that barely worked. I was 11 years old and I was in heaven. On that day, a geek was born. My childhood was a good one. My parents didn't make a lot of money and we didn't have a lot of clothes or toys or things of that nature. For that matter, we lived in upstate Washington along Highway 20, way out in the boonies, less than 300 yards… Continue

PaleOne Limbo isnt a fun place to be...

As Kirel Posted, I too long for a pvp oriented game without artificial barriers and property ownership(Real Estate) Darkfall is my first choice. They tell us beta is starting soon, but they have been saying soon for a while.. Shadowbane is free and much stabler than before. A good choice untill the next generation of siege games comes out. XP for pvp kills is awesome. {CENSOREDBETA GAME} is still really buggy. Tried to play some last night, spell animations were stuck in an infinite loop ..… Continue

Kirel Redhand PVP, Roleplay, Gaming, Friends and Memories - Redemption

I love PVP. But I don't love it to exclusion of all else. If I did, pretty much any shooter would satisfy me, because there is nothing more pure and more competitive in nature than a good shooter. I also need to be able to grow my character, not only in skillsets, but in personality and how he interacts with the world around him. I need to be able to delve into a character, to put my psyche inside and tweak it some, producing an artificial and stylized version of me: One that feels real and one… Continue
