Kirel Redhand

Here we go, all the way, can't stop, won't stop, never stop...

Hello from the overworld. Yes, it's me. I am Kirel, aka Patrick and let me tell you, life has been different these past 8 weeks.

I am down to 216lbs (so says the unofficial scale here at my Moms). Considering I started(feb 6th) at 360lbs - thats a HUGE difference. Last week, the morning I turned 38, I climbed Mt. Constitution, on Orcas Island. It's not a huge or snowcapped mountain, but for me, it was a major accomplishment, the first of many.

I've gotten into this thing called GeoCacheing. You need a handheld GPS device and with it, you essentially program in a set of coordinates that correspond with a cache that somebody has placed somewhere out in the world. You use the GPS to find it. It's like an adult treasure hunt. Sometimes there are cool things in them, sometimes they have tracker bugs or travel bugs (tracker bugs have transponders, travel bugs have a destination they want to get to) and when you find the cache, you log that you've been there. If there is a travel bug, you take it, log that you took it and find another cache somewhere else to put it in. Eventually, the travel bug will get to it's destination point. The point of this however isn't so much the stuff inside the cache, but the adventure you have while searching for it. It's quite fun.

I miss yall and will get back into gaming at some point, but right now, I am having too much fun doing things that I have been physically unable to do for a long time.

Ok guys. TTYL

You probably don't remember me Patrick, but it's good to hear from you again. Congrats on all the weight loss, that's amazing!

Geocaching is pretty fun, I just got into that last year... It's really cool that people are so honorable with the caches (not taking things without leaving something). It sure is a great excuse to get my butt out the door and travel a little.

Anyway, take care man. Maybe I will see you in a game somewhere. :)

I heard that way back when people navigated with map and compass. We're so spoiled by GPS.

Sounds like you're pretty happy right now; glad to hear it!
